How to Get People to Constantly Open Your E-Mail Promotions Or Your Newsletter

In this article I'm going to talk strictly from a subscriber's point of view. If you're marketing online, what would you do to find out how people think so you can target your e-mail promotions or a newsletter better?
Well, here's your opportunity.

Even though I'm running my own newsletter and have my own subscribers, I'm also subscribing to a number of newsletters myself. Today, I'm going to reveal why I open some newsletter e-mails or e-mail promotions more than the others. And also, why I always look forward to only a few of them. Yes, only a few.

The reason I'm subscribing to newsletters, ezines or what ever you want to call them, is because that's the only way to learn from a marketer and find out what they're up to, without having to buy all of their products. Clever, I must say.

Why are you subscribing to newsletters? To learn or .....???

But somehow, some of them have convinced me to buy some of their products even though I wasn't planning on doing so. But how did they do it?

Let's begin the journey.

At this very moment as I'm typing this article, I looked into the inbox and the bulk folder in 3 of my domain name e-mails that I receive the newsletters in. I had a total of 2037 unread e-mails.

WOW! I didn't even know I had that many.

How do I know that these are all newsletters? Because I delete all spam and I open the personal e-mails immediately.

And the newsletters?

When I get a chance, if at all. That's because I receive quite a few e-mails in one day and I don't have any more time than anyone else. Only 24 hours in a day.

I'm subscribing to the top name guru's newsletters, ezines, many marketers and names that I haven't even heard of. It doesn't really matter who is sending the e-mail, it's a same story.

One may ask, why am I subscribed to so many of them?

Well, you never know what you may learn from any one of them.

OK! Here we go! The time for the confession.

When I subscribe to a new list, I get the usual welcome e-mail. That's standard. But then, I wait for the first, second and possibly third e-mail from the marketer.

By then, I pretty much know the nature of his or her e-mails. Whether the e-mails are direct broadcasts or pre-scheduled e-mails from their autoresponders, it really doesn't matter.

In my daily course of scanning my e-mail accounts, there are e-mails that I open immediately and there are e-mails that I just transfer to folders to open at a later date, if ever.

The e-mails that I already know contain a pure sales pitch or a promotion of some kind with included affiliate link, end up getting deleted or transferred to folders and maybe never opened.

I pretty much know which marketers send me these types of e-mails all the time.

Maybe not all of the subscribers act this way, but there are e-mails that I actually open, read and then transfer to folders.

And those are e-mails that contain a free content. Content such as articles, movie files, newsletters that deliver a free content instead of a pure sales pitch and such. Again, I pretty much know what marketers send me these types of e-mails.

Let's be brutally honest.

What do surfers do when they search the 'net? Do they search the Internet with their credit cards ready to buy or do they search for a free content?

When you open your e-mail, do you have your credit card ready to buy whatever promotions you might get hit by, or ... why do you open your e-mails?

As marketers, we always want to sell, sell, sell. As surfers, people want to read without having to spend their hard earned money.

Let's apply the same strategy again. Why do I open the personal e-mails immediately - e-mails from customers, business associates, friends, purchase receipts and such?

Or better yet, why do YOU open the e-mails sent to you from a friend or someone you know?

Because you know for sure that it doesn't contain any sales pitch or a promotion.

And what about the e-mail promotions? What do those e-mails contain?

I don't know about you but after about the 3rd e-mail following the sign-up to someone's list, I pretty much ignore all the follow-up e-mails from marketers that I know for sure their e-mails deliver nothing but promotions. What's your take on that?

However, as I said earlier, I almost always open the e-mails from marketers that send me a free content. Did I just say, "Almost Always?" What's that all about?

There are quite a few e-mails, newsletters, ezines and such that provide a free content in forms of articles, reports, tips and so on. So then, which ones would be the ones that I always look forward to?

In other words, which ones are the e-mails (non personal e-mails) that I always open no matter what?

Have you ever thought about this? Which e-mails do you open and read most of the time and which e-mails go straight to the trash can?

Well, I currently have only 4. Only 4 e-mails that I actually can't wait until the next issue. How about that?
By the way, I'm subscribed to quite a *few hundred* lists that I receive e-mails from. Yet, there are only 4 that I can't wait until the next issue. I open and read those 4 even if I'm dead tired or busy over my head.
To make one thing clear, I'm talking about a free subscription. I'm not referring to the paid subscription to a newsletter. That comes with special benefits. I'm talking about an everyday marketing or a distribution list that we might end up on.

So, what' so special about these 4?

The content they provide is articles, movie files or other forms that they write or create from their experience.
They write what they actually do. At least for the most part.

They're not providing articles that have been picked up from ezine directories, even though I enjoy reading those articles too as I spend countless hours browsing through those directories.

But these 4 marketers are unselfishly sharing what they actually do. And that comes with a free newsletter. Can't beat that!

When I open their e-mails, I know that I will learn something that will benefit me. And I will not just learn how to .... whatever .... but I will learn from their ... let me repeat that ... from THEIR personal experience.

So the e-mails that deliver a free content from the sender's personal experience will get my immediate attention. The e-mails that deliver a free content that will teach me something, but not necessarily from the sender's personal experience, are being saved for the most part.

The pure promotion e-mails, well .... I do go through them .... sometimes .... when I'm looking for ideas .... but for the most part .... I've developed a tendency to ignore them. Shocking but true. Again, what's your take on that?

On the other hand, the marketers who deliver the e-mails with a free content from their personal experience, innocently insert a promotion or two within their newsletter. After one, two, three or so e-mails, I would go:
"Hhhmmm! I wonder what is he or she going to teach me with the book that they're selling? I mean, I'm learning quite a lot already but there's gotta be more in these books that they're selling or recommending."
So, there goes my credit card. :-)

Don't get me wrong. I invest all the time in products that will teach me something that I lack. But I've spontaneously bought a lot of products that I didn't really need. And that was all due to the generosity of the marketer that was unselfishly teaching me already, something from his or her personal experience.

Put this to a test. Find out for yourself. Share your experience with the people, whether good or bad, and see the response. But if you've been spamming them with countless promotions already, it may take a little longer until they see "the new you."

What is RSS feed? Do marketers relly need it?

The recent Forrester Research study, which claims that only 2% of online households in North America use RSS, took the internet marketing world by storm. Does this data really mean that marketers can still afford to ignore this channel?

Soon after the Forrrester study became public, I received a press enquiery asking whether marketers should be interested in RSS now that so few online adults use it.
Is this the correct question to ask? Let's take a look at the bigger picture ...

1. THE FORRESTER STUDY VALIDITY

The Forrester study is just one of those available and cannot be considered as the only relevant study, although it was conducted on a sample of 68,000 households.
Jupiter Research estimates RSS penetration at 12% of the American online population, while the latest report from PEW shows that 9% of the American online population has a good idea of what RSS is. An October 2004 PEW study actually estimated RSS penetration at 5%.
It is also important to understand that Forrester data does not include those that might not even be aware they are using RSS, especially through services such as My.Yahoo, which is actually the most popular RSS reader.
Also, at the same time, Forrester Vice President Henry Harteveldt says that »RSS is critical for any organization that wants to reach out to people under the age of 30«.

2. THE FUTURE GROWTH OF RSS

Regardless of the numbers we put our faith in, the future growth of RSS is without question. Microsoft just recently announced full RSS support in the next edition of their Internet Explorer browser and full RSS integration in the next edition of their operating system, the Windows Vista.
Once RSS becomes easily available to most internet users out-of-the-box and becomes as widely spread as bookmarks, its adoption will grow at an incredible rate. Microsoft has now made sure this in fact will happen.
Consequently, the time for marketers to not only become interested in RSS but also master it is now. Those that test and discover the best possible ways of using RSS for marketing will be ahead of their competition once everyone starts using RSS.
Furthermore, since RSS implementation can actually be free of any charge, there's no reason not to start providing your content in RSS feeds now.

3. GOOGLE SHOWS THE WAY

Microsoft and Yahoo! aren't the only big players to show support for RSS. Google recently launched RSS advertising as part of their Google AdSense program, giving publishers reason to start their own RSS feeds to generate direct revenues.
Those that depend on Google AdSense for part or all of their online revenues actually need to provide RSS feeds, or stand to lose some of those revenues due to their visitors switching to sites and feeds from their competitors.
Face it, today many users are already starting to request publishers provide them with RSS to subscribe to their content. This trend will only continue, with many users selecting RSS as their primary channel of receiving and reading online content.

4. THE QUESTIONABLE RELIABILITY OF E-MAIL

All marketers today are experiencing e-mail delivery problems, constantly wondering whether their messages are getting through or not. Simply put, e-mail can no longer be relied on.
For one, offering your content via RSS as a supplement to e-mail will help you make certain that at least a portion of your visitors, those that decide for the RSS option, will be receiving all of your content without any doubt.
Lockergnome.com decided to start pushing RSS instead of e-mail some time ago, and as a result saw that their RSS feeds are outperforming e-mail when it comes to clickthrough rates for about 500%. Also an interesting fact, they today have 5 times more RSS subscribers than e-mail subscribers.
And two, for your most important content updates, RSS really is becoming a must, especially if you need to be in contact with your existing customers, partners and other key audiences. If you want to be 100% certain that your messages reach your audience, RSS is the way to go.

5. OTHER BENEFITS OF RSS

But all of the above don't even touch all the reasons why marketers should start using RSS today ...
a) RSS will help you generate additional traffic and reach new audiences. Considering the low cost of RSS implementation, this is reason enough to get started with RSS today.
b) RSS helps you to easily get your content published on other sites, thus generating you more credibility and visitors.
c) As a publisher you can use RSS to display content from other sources, thus making your site more relevant and interesting to your existing visitors.
And the list goes on and on.
RSS may not be mainstream yet, but it provides enough advantages even today to make it a must-choice for marketers.

Build list of your customers

If you run (or plan to run) an online business, it's especially important that you maintain and add to a customer/prospect list. Unlike a store-front business, which can draw on pedestrian traffic, you're only location is cyberspace.

You must constantly let potential customers know you exist. And to remind current customers that you're still in business and have more products and services to help them.

The are couple of powerful reasons for keeping an updated list of your customers' names and email addresses.

Obviously the first is that prospects can be turned into customers.

But here's another important reason: It costs five to ten times as much to acquire a new customer than selling more products to your existing customers.

Think about all advertising costs involved in trying to attract new buyers. It's much easier to sell to people whom already know you.

If you sell a quality product and deliver great customer service, you build customer loyalty and help prevent customers switching to your competitors.

Also take advantage of "cross selling." If customer X bought Product A, make sure they know about Product B, C, etc.

If your customer doesn't purchase your other products, send an email and politely inquire.

When you find out their specific objection to buying, you can then address the problem.

Perhaps you can offer the customer a volume discount, two for one deal, or add an inexpensive gift if they order.

Be creative in ways to overcome customer resistance.
And check through your list often.

When was the last time you were in contact with each of these customers?

You should be keeping in touch with them at least monthly. Even if it's just an email asking how they are enjoying your product or service.

Ask them if they were pleased with the customer service they received from you or how can you serve them better.

One of the most effective ways to keep in contact with your customers is to send them a newsletter. With email, it's easy to create your own electronic newsletter or ezine.

But make sure your ezine is more than just a sales pitch. People will tire of that quickly.

Instead, offer tips on how to best use your products, include new product information, offer discounts on upgrades, or create a frequently asked questions (FAQ) column.

Your goal is not to be just a company that sells products, your goal is to be the solution provider to your customers' problems.

If you're stumped about what content to include in your newsletter, send out an email to your customers asking what they'd like to read.

TIP: You'll get a much better response if you offer an incentive for them to reply. Offer a free e-book or discount on your other products.

If you're just starting your business, you don't need to purchase an expensive database to store your customer list. Many email programs have versatile address book features where you can store and update your list.

7 Reasons Why You Should Join A Forum Today

Human beings are social by nature and online communities, or forums, are the latest in a long progression of social organizations created by humankind. While many people join forums specifically for the social benefits there are several good reasons for internet entrepreneurs to join an online forum. Here are the top seven benefits you and your online business can reap.

The top reason many internet business men and women join forums is for the search engine benefits. Many forums are tremendously popular with search engines and so not only rank well but also are regularly crawled. Most forums offer an introductions area as well as a signature area where you can promote your web site or sites. In addition, as you participate in a forum that is relevant to your site's topic there will likely be opportunities to work your site into conversation. All these links can be of tremendous benefit in terms of search engine rankings and relevant back links.

However if you think that search engine benefits are the beginning and end of the ways you and your internet business can profit from joining a forum then you are missing out on a lot of learning.

If you are going to join a forum then join a forum that help you learn more about your niche. Even if you are an expert in your field there is always more to be learned and where else to go for that knowledge than a place where others knowledgeable in your area also hang out? That is what is so wonderfully flexible about forums. There really is an internet community for everyone and every interest. Your task is to find the forum where your peers are already hanging out. Learning more about your niche is a tremendous benefit of joining a forum.

You don't need to restrict your forum memberships to those within your field. It is also wise to join forums that can help you learn more about how to run your business. Find forums of other small business owners and entrepreneurs. You will soon be able to find folks who are at your level of expertise as well as those with more experience willing to share their hard-earned lessons. Soon you'll have the opportunity to repay that debt by mentoring other newbies. This sharing and hand-holding is one of the elements that makes internet communities so successful.

You should also seek a forum to help you with your internet marketing. There are many different approaches to internet marketing and while some people prefer the scatter-gun approach most choose one or two primary methods. Explore and text methods to determine which you feel most comfortable with and then join a forum focused on that method to help you refine your approach and achieve maximum success.
One of the primary problems with the internet is that it can be easy to feel isolated. However forums can help bridge the gap of time and distance by serving as a community as well as an information source. Friendships and even love can be found in time and laughter and camaraderie and commiseration can help sustain the person as well as the business.

Forums can also help you find customers for your business. As you participate and share information about your business some folks will naturally express an interest. As you share your expertise and demonstrate your knowledge then you will attract still more. Don't be a pushy salesperson, simply allow your expertise showcase your business and you will attract a quality customer relationship.

A forum can also be a great place to find partners to help you expand or promote your business in a number of ways. You might discover some like-minded soul whose business perfectly complements yours or you might discover the perfect joint-venture partner. Even if you encounter people you might view as competition try to view the relationship from many angles to see if there is a way to benefit from a partnership rather than a competition.

Joining forums can provide many benefits to you and to your business but remember that internet communities are social contracts with rules and guidelines. Make sure you know and understand the rules before leaping into discussions. It is even more difficult to undo a bad first impression on the internet as it cannot always be erased. Start slow and easy until you are sure of your footing. Also, be very wary about pushing your business too aggressively. That type of activity can get you banned from a forum pretty quickly. Many forums have a clearly marked area for advertising and sales posts and also allow some blatant promotion in your signature, but keep your posts on topic and helpful and you'll be better off in the long run.

The Future of Social Networking

The Internet has been very popular place to meet new friends. Recently there was an article on the Australian version of the Reader's Digest about meeting the someone special in cyberspace. Members of one particular website mentioned were able to present themselves to one another as 3D avatars in a virtual world. That was a great advancement in technology. One may wonder what the further may hold for Social Networking. Based on my experience with a few Social Networking sites, and the technology I have experienced, here is what I think may happen:

1. It will be more common for members to appear on live videos on social networking sites. All you have to do is to click on a nickname of a member to view his or her introduction video. It is also possible that such videos are in 3D, and you do not have to put on anything special to view them.

2. A member will be able be at the same place together virtually with another member without having to leave their PCs. For example, a female member from England can spend time together with his American boyfriend in Japan without leaving their homes.

3. Members can see each other as real people virtually instead of as avatars. The 3D images of members will be transported live to a virtual place instantly where they can met with one another. Technology will also allows each member to touch one another even though in reality they are no where near at all.

4. Members can play a sport together in a virtual field without really having to move away from their PCs.

5. Members can attend a recital performed by a member in a virtual 3D concert hall while still at the front of their PCs.

No one knows what the future may hold especially for Social Networking, but if what I mentioned above can really become true? In my opinion, it will have a great impact on society. People may have concern on their safety even though they do not really touch another other in a virtual world. However, the touching will be so realistic that it will be difficult for them to differentiate. Therefore, if such technology is adapted, Social Networking sites will have to thoroughly screen new applicants before allowing anyone to be a member.

Ten-Step Guide To Boosting Your Site's Traffic and Revenue

1. Hunt for Catchy Domain Names and Get a Quality Paid Host
You probably have a domain name already, but you might consider getting new ones for different sections of your website or for different target markets. Gone are the days when it used to cost $50 to register a .com and most people can afford to have several domain names. Nameboy is a fabulous free tool to find available names. However, don't register your domain names with Nameboy: they are expensive. Instead, we recommend you use this registrar who charge half the amount.
If you are using a free web host, then ditch it - their intrusive advertising will stop people returning to your site and most directories will not list it. Spend some time at Webhosting Talk, which is world's number one forum for webhosting. There are literally thousands of hosts out there, so it can be an arduous process finding a reliable one which will provide a good level of service. The one we use for most of our sites is here.

2. Put All your Energy into Creating the Best Website Possible
Now its time to create your site or, if you have one already, make it even better! If you need a user-friendly yet advanced HTML editor, we would recommend 1st Page 2000. It is 100% free and far easier to use than the likes of Dreamweaver. Try to make your website look as impressive as possible: it is worth burning the midnight oil to make it look just perfect. We can't stress how important it is to have a professional-looking logo; most webmasters underestimate their significance. In this day and age, image is everything and a jaw-dropping logo will impress potential advertisers. If need be, pay for a graphic designer to create one for you.

3. Write Unique Meta-Tags for Each Page of Your Site
Although meta-tags are no longer as important as they used to be, with search engines like Google and Yahoo no longer using them, it is worth the effort to create unique meta-tags for each and every page of your site. That way you will receive multiple listings in the search engines. An invaluable free meta-tags generator can be found here.

4. Do Some Market Testing and Then Tweak the Site if Necessary
When you have finished your website, ask your friends to surf around it and get their feedback. Big businesses spend billions of dollars on getting consumer feedback on their products and services, but by asking family and friends, you can gain an invaluable insight into how other people will perceive your site for free. You can also ask other webmasters for suggestions on how to improve your site on one of the many forums such as SitePoint or IHelpYou

5. Submit Your Site to the Search Engines
Now comes the fun part. You can either submit your site to the major search engines manually or, to save time, use a submission tool. There are lots of companies which will try to rip you off by asking you to pay to use their submission service, but there's no need to pay a penny. We have spent hours surfing the net to find the best free submission tools for you!If you are pushed for time, you can use either
this or this service which will submit details of your site to various top and middle-ranking search engines. However, we would strongly urge you to spend an afternoon using the excellent SelfPromotion.com to let scores of search engines and directories know about your new fangled creation. A word of caution: never ever use your real email address to make site submissions. Despite what they claim, many of the search engines, particularly the smaller ones, sell the email addresses of webmasters who submit sites to them and you will start receiving more and more spam. Make up your email address or open a new Gmail or Yahoo Mail account and use that when submitting.

6. Don't Forget to Submit Your Site to Directories
The most important directory to submit your site to is Dmoz which syndicates its content to thousands of other portals. Read the instructions about how to submit your site carefully. Yahoo's directory used to be equally significant, but we don't think it's worth the investment any more. Yahoo now gives prominence to its pay-per-click listings and being in their directory will not pull enough traffic to most sites to justify the cost. Yahoo charges an exhorbitant annual fee for a site to be listed in its directory. Alongside Dmoz, don't forget to submit your new-fangled creation to niche directories in your field and in your geographical region. The more links you have to your site, the greater your link popularity and the higher your site will feature in King of Search Engines, Google!

7. Also Consider Pay-Per-Click Search Engines
Free search engine traffic is great, but sometimes it takes months to properly optimize and tweak your web pages until those pages show up high enough in the rankings to do you any good. PPC Search Engines are based on the premise that you, the web site owner or affiliate program promoter, pay a fee to have your site/product listed before others. You can end up paying a considerable amount of money for PPC listings in search engines, but it can provide a valuable source of targeted traffic if you play the game with caution and guile.
Make sure you do your research first to choose the most cost-effective PPC search engines for you. If you do a search at
Webmaster World, for instance, you will discover that many webmasters who paid for listings at Enhance Interactive have considered it a complete waste of money as it partners with poor quality search engines. Other PPC search engines we suggest you avoid are Xuppa (awkward to navigate, poor customer support), Brainfox (terrible control panel) and the European PPC search provider Espotting (very high minimum bid). A couple of PPC search engines we have had a good experience with are this one and this one

8. Optimising Pay-Per-Click Marketing Campaigns
A good way to create a collection of keywords for PPC advertising is to view the source on competing websites. You may do this with as many sites as you want, create as large a collection as possible. Here are some other useful tools to dig for keywords to add to your PPC campaigns: Overture USA and Overture UK toolboxes shows both keywords and traffic; 7Search's and Google's are equally good.Patiently build a large collection of search terms. If you only use 20-30 "good" keywords you have to bid high on them and the traffic will be expensive. But if you use hundreds of words you can receive an equal amount of traffic without having to bid high amounts. Also don't forget the landing page people first see when they click on your PPC link must be optimised to generate the sale, sign-up or whatever your aim is.

9. Banner exchanges are a Brilliant Way to Build Your Brand and Traffic
Banner exchanges will allow you to spread the word about your site on thousands of others at no cost. If haven't got a banner, there are hundreds of excellent free-to-use templates at AAA Banners. We have tried over 100 banner exchanges over the years, but most of them seem to be run by amateur webmasters from their bedrooms and, as time progresses and their interest in the project wanes, the level of service deteriorates. The most professional banner exchange we have ever come across is this one. We receive hundreds of visitors from them every day. If you decide to give them a go, spend time getting to learn how to target your banner(s). That way they will only appear on sites in your category and you receive more traffic back to your site.

10. And Finally, the $$$s...
It's only when you have finished promoting your site that you should consider adding prominent advertising to it. If, say, you have in-your-face affiliate links from the start, directories are more likely to reject your site. Therefore wait until your site has been included in directories, accepted by PPC search engines and banner exchanges, before adding banners and text links to the top of your pages.
When looking for merchants to promote, avoid the ones that merely pay a one-off lead or sales commission. Most of the wealthiest people in society can enjoy a high standard of living because they have residual income streams: they don't work 100 hours a week to pay for their Mercedes cars. Therefore look for stores that pay you commission for each and every purchase a customer you send to them makes - even if it is years down the line. Visit Azam.biz's directory for the best companies to consider partnering with.

How to Generate More Traffic to Your Website

Are you looking for an effective way to generate more leads or traffic into your online business or affiliate programs? Now you can easily generate more leads and sales by using these techniques.

The challenge of any online business is to generate leads which in turn will lead to sales. In order to do this you need to have an effective system to attract visitors to your website. The more traffic you get, the more customers you will have, and ultimately your sales will increase. There are many ways you can generate leads and traffic to your business. The ones described below are the most effective in generating leads:
  • Create a content based website
  • Collect visitors contact information
  • Offer a free report or ebook
  • Create an opt-in newsletter
  • Write specialised articles
Create a content based website

Create in-demand content, where each page focuses on a single topic related to that theme. Each page should be a 'Keyword Focused Content Page'. The goal or purpose of creating such a website is to drive targeted traffic to your pages which will generate commissions if you're an affiliate, or generate more product / service sales. Search engines such as Google favour content based websites so make sure your website contains valuable content. Keep adding content to your website which will boost your overall rankings. Ultimately the focus of your website should be on offering useful information which 'presells' the potential customer.

Collect visitors contact information

Have a system to collect the email address of every person who visits your web site and is interested in finding a solution to a problem. As mentioned you will need to have already created a content based site which offers valuable information on a particular subject. Most people search online for information or solutions so this is why content is king. If you give people what they want they will beat a path to your door and subscribe to your newsletter or purchase something off your website.
Place a subscription box in a prominent place on your site. Offer an enticement in return for their email addresses. This should help you capture the email addresses of 10-20% of the people who visit your site each week. People are aware that when they give you their email address they expect to be sent emails with advertisements. So you need to offer some high value enticement UP FRONT to get them to opt-in.

Offer a free report or ebook

One of the most frequently used search terms online contains the word FREE in it! Everybody loves to receive something for nothing. But make sure that what you do offer is something they cannot get elsewhere. This can be done by either creating a 'Special Report' which is unavailable elsewhere or offering an existing product that is tailored to your visitors. For example you might offer business owners a free report or ebook which tells them how to create more traffic to their website. It also important to let them know the value of the 'free gift', for example 'FREE Report - $47 Value'

Create an opt-in newsletter

One of the most effective ways of generating leads for your business is by offering a free subscription to your newsletter. As with the free report or ebook, it is important when writing a newsletter that you write about something that is relevant to your subscribers.
Everybody has something that they can write about. What most people lack is the time to write. Even if you publish a monthly newsletter, people will want to sign up if they feel that the information has a high perceived value to them. Your opt-in list is like a goose that lays the golden eggs. It is estimated that each subscriber to your newsletter is worth a least $1 per month to your business.

Write specialised articles

You do not necessarily need to be an expert in your chosen field. What is most important is that you are PASSIONATE about what you are writing about and that you have unique or specialised information which is unavailable elsewhere. After you have done this submit your articles to article submission sites and make sure to include a resource box at the end which will direct people back to your website.

Employ these lead generating strategies and you will notice a significant increase in website traffic and an increase in the leads generated. But don't stop there! Remember, you need to follow up with these leads and turn them into paying customers which is why preselling is an important factor.

5 Illustrious Strategies To Explode Your Web Site Traffic

Are you spending hundreds of dollars on advertising campaigns, only to find out that you have earned a very small profit or none at all? Here are 5 illustrious strategies that will help you explode and create viral traffic to your web site.

1.Reciprocal Links - Think of reciprocal linking as a mini joint venture. Go to any major search engine and search for sites that are related or similar to yours. The majority of web masters that exchange links with other web sites have a links page. Look for the links page and see if they provide instructions on how you should link to their web site. Contact the web master and inform him/her that you have linked to their web site and request that they link to your web site in return. Remember to provide the web master with the page that you have placed their link on. Always make sure that you provide the web master with your web site url, title and description so that he/she can link to your web site in return.
If you keep contacting other web sites on a consistent basis,at least 10% of the web masters that you contact will exchange links with you. You will receive traffic from your link partners and also from the search engines. Link popularity is a major part of the search engines algorithm. Remember to only contact web masters with related web sites that have a links page. Contacting unrelated web sites can result in spam complaints.

2.Writing Articles - This strategy creates viral traffic from all different angles. The key here is to provide a resource box at the end of your article with a link to your web site. Once you write your article you will need to submit it to the many different announcement lists on the internet. There are companies that will charge you a small fee to submit your articles for you, or you can submit them on your own for free. Once you submit your articles the potential for hundreds of visitors begins. Ezine publishers can send your article to thousands of readers and other publishers will place your article on their web sites.
If you have a good resource biography at the end of your article hundreds of people may visit your web site. Your rankings will start to rise on the search engines due to high link popularity, creating another source of traffic.

3.Affiliate Programs - This is probably the most rewarding strategy to create viral traffic to your web site. The idea here is to recruit an unlimited number of affiliates that are willing to sell your products for a commission. You never lose money with this strategy because you only pay your affiliates when they make a sale. This strategy will also increase your link popularity since many of the affiliates will send traffic to your web site by linking directly to it. If you do your research you will find companies that can setup an affiliate program for you. Another option is to purchase software that allows you to setup your affiliate program.

4.Free Services - Providing free services is a strategy that yahoo and microsoft have been using for years. The idea here is to provide a free version of a service and a paid version. If someone upgrades to the paid version of your service they should be able to benefit from extra features. This strategy can easily explode the traffic to your web site if you provide a useful service. Visitors will refer others to visit your web site creating a never ending flow of traffic.

5.Manual traffic exchanges - A traffic exchange allows you to visit other web sites in exchange for visitors to your own web site. Many traffic exchanges have a referral system in place. If you refer someone to join the traffic exchange, you receive a percentage of visits to your web site any time your referrals surf the exchange. The key here is to do your research and look for a traffic exchange that has a good anti-cheating system. A good anti-cheating system will ensure that only real visitors are looking at your web site.
These are 5 illustrious strategies that can explode your web site traffic. Implement some or all of these strategies into your marketing plan and you will create a never ending source of viral traffic to your web site.

15 Ways to Manage Your E-Mail More Effectively

o Are you tired of searching for e-mail messages you know are somewhere?

o Is your electronic "In Box" full of outdated messages?

o Do you frequently get ultimatums from your IS department to "clean up your act?"

Love it or hate it - or both! - e-mail is increasingly the primary method for communicating in today's digital world - at work and at home. Research shows that introducing e-mail into a company increases printing by 40%.

6 Tips for Sending E-mail Your Recipients Will Love:

1. Use the Subject line to clearly describe the topic of your e-mail. This is helpful for the recipient, and for you if you want to find a message you've sent.

2. Include only one subject per e-mail message. This method will greatly simplify e-mail filing and retrieval.

3. For a lengthy or complicated e-mail, create the e-mail in your word processing program and then copy to your e-mail. If you have an e-mail glitch during the sending process, you can easily retrieve your message!

4. When replying to any e-mail, attach enough of the old message for the recipient to remember the content of the original e-mail, but delete unnecessary information or duplication.

5. Avoid sending e-mail attachments whenever possible. Receivers are becoming more reluctant to open attachments due to the increasing prevalence of viruses that can come through attachments. In some instances, you may send an attachment, and include the attachment in the body of the e-mail, with the explanation that the attachment will have better formatting, but the recipient could get the gist of the message without opening the attachment.

6. Consider using your contact management software (such as ACT!) to send all of your outgoing e-mail. With many programs, you can attach your outgoing e-mail messages to the recipients, and other related contacts, and they will automatically appear in the Out Box of your e-mail program.

9 Tips for Managing Your Incoming E-mail:

1. To avoid an overflowing e-mail In Box, create folders. For example, you might have folders for each of your direct reports, for each project, for a committee which you chair, and for subjects of particular interest. (For example, I have a folder "statistics" since I frequently need that info for the media.)

2. Whenever you open your incoming e-mail, apply The FAT System(TM) (File-Act-Toss) to each e-mail.

3. If you aren't sure you need it, toss it! Unlike a paper wastebasket, you can always retrieve e-mail from electronic trash by using the "Find Message" feature available in most e-mail programs. (If the company empties the trash without your knowledge, create a folder called "My Trash.")

4. Apply the "2-Do Rule" whenever possible. If you can reply in 2 minutes, then do it right away. It will take longer to file it and retrieve it again than to "just do it!"

5. For e-mail that takes more time to reply, either leave them in Inbox or file in an appropriate folder such as "Action"or "Reply."

6. If you use Paper Tiger Permanent Action Files for managing your paper (Call, Discuss, On-Line, etc.), you can use it to file the paper copy of e-mail that requires your action, such as "Discuss with John."

7. For e-mail you want to keep in electronic format, drag to the appropriate folder as described in Tip #1.

8. If you need or want a paper copy of an e-mail for future reference, print it out and file it in your paper management system, i.e. Paper Tiger, so you can find it again in 5 seconds or less!

9. After you have finished with an e-mail folder (such as a specific project), you can store it on a floppy or ZIP disk in case you need it later.

How to Write Quality Blogs?

Writing...Blogs...Blogs are on-line journals where people express themselves through writing. Writing...Writing is the process where one puts down words of a language on a format that others can read. This process has not been around very long, to use one of my writing teacher's favorite sayings, "Writing has only existed for one day in the one year that humanity has existed." Speaking and thinking come much easier than writing. These processes just flow out naturally like a river of consciousness; sometimes we hardly have to think about doing them. Anyone and everyone can write words down on paper but that doesn't mean it's 'good writing', myself included. Like most things in life, our society already takes writing for granted which is proving to expose more of our ignorance. Writing is a new form of expression, and if we want to do it in a way that the masses can connect with our ideas, we have to think much more simply and clearly about this art.

Now that was quite a big paragraph, you've got to wonder if I really needed to say as much as I just did to introduce this article on the best way to write your blogs on the Web. I didn't even mention this main idea, and that's what an introduction paragraph is meant to be for. This is a common mistake in many blogs out there. We try to get too many ideas across in one paragraph, sometimes even in one sentence! The key, as in all things in life-is to keep it simple. Simplicity means that readers won't get confused about what your journal entry is actually about. Introduce your main general topic at the start, and use the subsequent paragraphs to discuss separate ideas that relate to this topic. Try to tie everything up in the concluding paragraph, your main argument and the reason why you've written in the first place.

Grammar and sentence construction are not easy systems to master, especially if you come from a school system that spent more time telling you about historical battles and quadratic equations than on how to read and write. This is a real problem. When we speak we can get messages across to others easily, but if we put these words down on paper, the writing just isn't interesting and doesn't connect with people's curiosities and fascination. When you write you are not talking to a close friend. You can't use slang and colloquialisms that only your local community can understand. The aim is to connect with all the people in the world, so let's make it crystal clear and enjoyable to read.

Your computer has spelling and grammar checks, as well as access to a thesaurus. Use them, but remember that the machine can't decipher all the intricacies of language. Language is a world in itself, and much of its territories are undiscovered by the masses. So, again keep it simple. Short, precise sentences with single ideas are great. Many words in the English language have the same meanings (synonyms). Use the thesaurus so you don't repeat the same word over and over throughout the text. It keeps the story fresh and doesn't turn the reader off. There's nothing more boring than repetition. Using different words can be a lot of fun and a learning experience, just make sure you use a dictionary (also on the computer/Internet) to make absolute sure of the word's definition.

Readability...Simplicity...Make your blog accessible by all people. You can even take into consideration that many readers will have learned English as a second language. As I've said in previous articles, keep to the point-don't go on tangents. Stick with the article's topic, and definitely stay within the realms of your blog's main area. If your blog is entitled "Jazz music", people who go there don't want to hear about how your football team won on the weekend! Please be consistent. How irritating is it to visit a blog that hasn't been written on in months or years?

I hope these little tips will help you on your quest to producing 'good' writing that brings new friends and acquaintances of similar outlooks into your world. If you want people to read, the aim is to produce an emotional reaction in your reader. Pretend you are writing to another form of yourself, if it were not readable, interesting and fun...would you stick around?

Keyword Research And Analysis

Keyword research and analysis is one of the most fundamental components of search engine marketing. If you want your website to rank high in the major search engines, keyword research and analysis is utmost important.

Without doing the proper keyword research and analysis before starting a new website will doom your website to failure. By targeting the wrong keyword phrases, your online business is doomed to fail from the very start.

So How Do You Do Keyword Research And Analysis?

Keyword Research all starts with a keyword or keyword phrase that describe your website or business online. From there, you need to expand on the keyword to get a list of related keywords. At this point, the more the better.

It is important the list of keywords you come up with are those keywords people are typing in the search engines. You want a list of keywords that match what people are searching for in the search engines. Most keyword research tools will provide you with data for each keyword you choose such as how many people search for that keyword each month.

Once you compiled the list of keywords, it's time to do keyword analysis. For this, you need to know another key piece of data. The competition. It means for a given keyword, how many other websites have the same keyword phrases on your webpage.

Usually, if a webpage is "optimized" for high search engine ranking, the keyword phrase will appear in the title page at least. Other things can include the keyword phrase in the h1 heading and in the first and last paragraph of the webpage.

So if you want the search the competition for a given keyword, all you need to do is type in the keyword in quotes into google, yahoo and MSN and you will know roughly the amount of competition.

Most modern keyword tools will automatically determine the competition for each keyword for you.
One basic principle in search engine marketing always applies for me. It is always easier to reach number one for a keyword which has less competition than to compete against millions of webpages.

As you can see, keyword research and analysis can be tedious and time consuming. Luckily most modern keyword research tools can do the same thing a lot faster.

Can I Guess Your Password?

Point Click System-100% Free Turnkey System to make Multiple Streams of Income Online!
CLICK to open ----> http://bit.ly/1ORbMU9!

We all know that it's dangerous to use the same password for more than one program. If you sign up for a program run by someone of low moral fibre, what is to stop them running through various programs with your username and password to see what they can access?

But of course remembering all the different passwords can be a headache. And writing them down somewhere isn't a great deal safer than using the same password again and again.

You can buy software that stores the passwords for you, but do you really want to pay money for another piece of software that performs a solitary function?

Try this simple, two-step, technique that lets you generate an infinite number of passwords, without having to remember any of them.

Step One: Choose a 4-6 letter word or number sequence that you can remember easily. Needless to say, don't reveal this to anyone. For the purpose of this demonstration, I'll choose the word "cash"

Step Two: Apply this secret word or number sequence to the name of the program you are setting up the password for.
To accomplish this, invent a couple of easy to remember rules.

Rule 1: Decide which part of the program name you are going to use. It could be the whole name, the first 6 letters of the name, the last 8 letters of the name. It's totally up to you, be as creative as you like.
eg - For the program TrafficSwarm, I might choose the first 8 letters of the name. This give me: "traffics"

Rule 2: Take the portion of the program name you have selected and merge it with your secret word or number sequence to create a unique password. Again, be as creative as you can with this rule. You could replace every second letter, every third letter, every vowel or every consonant.
eg - If I replace every second letter of "traffics" with my secret word "cash", I get " t c a a f s c h "
or  - If I replace every vowel of "traffics" with my secret word "cash", I get " t r c f f a c s ". The "s" and the "h" are not used as "traffics" has only two vowels, but some words will use all four letters of "cash". Some words might have more than four vowels, in which case just start back at the beginning with "c" and "a" and so on...
You don't have to worry about making your rules overly complex. Even the best code-breakers would need to see several of your passwords before they could start to guess what you rules are.

As long as you keep your rules safe and sound, your password is secure. But the real beauty of this system, is that you don't have to remember the passwords you create. You ONLY have to remember the rules.
When you log into the program the next time, just apply your rules to the program name, and you can work out what password you generated. Once you have been using the rules for a while, you'll generate the password in your head, without even having to pause.

Don't worry if it seems a little complicated at first. Read this article through a couple more times and then try this technique with just a couple of programs. Once you are happy with it, all that's left to do is to start working your way through existing programs and update your passwords. It's time consuming, but for peace of mind you'll be glad you did.
